Instructional Objective: It is the intent of this college to prepare Barbering students with the necessary skills to meet the demand of the industry through exposure to practical, theoretical, and hands on experience, safety and sanitary precautions, salon management, state laws, and first aid.
The student will also become familiar with duties of a receptionist, cashier, as well as professional ethics and public relations; therefore, developing an employable quality for entry level barbering. Upon completion of 1000 hours (42 weeks), requirements, and chapter tests, the student will be eligible to take the Washington State Board Exam. An 81% score is required for passing on both the written and practical exam. Upon successfully completing hours and requirements, the student will be given a diploma from BJās Beauty & Barber College.
The Collegeās requirements of services that can be performed on mannequins is a maximum of twenty-five percent (25%).

Evaluation: At the end of each unit the student will be given a written multiple choice examination. Students are required to obtain a minimum grade of 81% on all tests for the completion of the subject. An 81% is required in order to maintain satisfactory progress.
Instructional Techniques: The course will be a combination of lecture, demonstration and student participation. Instruction trainees will demonstrate their knowledge of teaching theory and application ability through their class demonstration.

The College will supply to the student a kit which will vary from time to time to keep pace with current fashion trends. A new kit will be supplied to each student the first week of training provided the kit cost has been paid. The kit shall contain such items as will allow the student to perform his/her chosen course. The kit cost do not include the replacement of tools or equipment lost, stolen, or damaged, nor does it cover student consumption of solutions and supplies outside of teaching situations.
Balance due is payable in monthly installments of due on or before the tenth of each month. A late charge of $10 will be assessed if payment is not received by the tenth of the month it is due. Cash, check, money order, cashier’s check, credit card and financial aid, as applicable are accepted forms of payment.
